New Large Vintage Owens Illinois Glass Hoosier Counter Jar Ribbed Corners

Large square vintage Owens Illinois storage glass counter jar with ribbed corners, great for storing beans, oats, pasta, rice in your hoosier cabinet or pantry or out for open display on your kitchen counter. As you can see, all you now need is a lid. (If you once had a jar and find yourself sad that it's broken, you are now in luck!) Each side panel has a smooth oval center, with the corners having a horizontal ribbing that runs down the sides.

Weighing in at 3 lbs. 9 oz., this jar is ready for any heavy present-day uses for whatever you might have to be stored.

Jar measures approx. 7-3/4 inch high, to the top of the rim, and 6-1/2 inch wide, side to side. The top of the rim measures 5 inch across, measuring from the outside, approx. 5-1/4 inch once you factor in the twist groove.

Underside of jar is embossed with the Owens-Illinois logo, along with Pat Pend at the top and the numbers 18, 8, and 8, respectively, at 9, 3, and 6 o'clock. (For those unfamiliar with Owens-Illinois, they are known to have manufactured utilitarian jars, mainly during the 1920s and 1930s.)

The glass is clean and clear, with one air bubble toward the bottom on one side and a bit of oxidation residue at the grooves, but no fog or detracting surface scratches.

Customer Reviews
I received my mugs today and I could not be happier. Packaged with great care, lovely card to say thank you, and all intact. They are better than expected, with the size I really wanted, thinner rim for sipping coffee and hot chocolate. I really have a thing for pottery mugs and these are great quality and wonderful drip glaze. Flashback Alley owner Holly is wonderful to work with, great communication, extra service all along. Thank you again! I love them.

The packages of Royal Doulton tea cups and dinner plates arrived in perfect condition. I could not be happier with the merchandise. Holly is personable and cares about the quality of the product as well as the packaging. Holly is a pleasure to work with and I will be shopping at Flashback Alley in the future. I'm so glad I found Flashback Alley!
