Vintage Square Glass Hoosier Cabinet or Pantry Storage Jar with Ribbed Edges

Vintage Square Glass Hoosier Cabinet or Pantry Storage Jar with Ribbed Edges

Vintage square storage glass with ribbed edges and a screw-on lid, great for storing beans, oats, pasta, rice and more in your hoosier cabinet or pantry.  Adding to the country charm, there's a vertical ribbed swag curve at the top and bottom of each panel, with tapered pleats at the corners embossed with horizontal ribbing.

Given the size of this jar, my initial thought was that it may have been a country store counter jar, but as a screw-on lid would have hindered that spontaneous urge for candy, I'm not so certain.  Either way, weighing in at 3-1/2 lbs., this jar is ready for any heavy present-day uses for whatever you might have to be stored.

Jar measures approx. 7-3/4 inches high, to the top of the lid, and 6-1/4 inches wide. The glass is clean and clear, with a few minor encased air bubbles but no fog or notable surface scratches.  The lid is finished in a green enamel paint, with a moderate amount of paint loss, but nothing that significantly detracts from the vintage appeal.
