Vintage Czech Harrach Art Glass Harrtil Merletto Wine Glasses Set of 4
Set of four vintage Czech Harrach art glass Merletto wine glasses from the Harrtil line, made by the Harrachov glass factory in/around the 1950s. With thin white merletto threads woven in a lattice pattern, the delicate fibers are then encased in glass. Designer names associated with this pattern appear to be Milos Pulpitel and Rudolf Schwedler, with Milan Metelák appearing in one reference source.
These wine glasses have six-sided stems and stand approx. 7 inch high and have a rim diameter of 2-5/8 inch. Liquid capacity is a comfortable 2/3 cup, but if you're one to prefer a full glass and push it to the edge, you could pour up to 6 ounces (but you'll be right at the top).
Of the four stems, one still retains its original Bohemia Glass Made in Czechoslovakia label, seeming to suggest the original owner used them more for display or only a few of them were ever used.
Note: While these are offered in a set of four, I have multiple sets available as well as other stemware in the same pattern, should you be interested in more than the collectible, decorative glass and also wish to set your bar or table with stemware with a history and visual intrigue and appeal.
