Opal Edwardian Platinum Antique Ring with Pierced Openwork - Engagement Ring
Love is inspired by and built to last on attention to details, and this gorgeous antique Edwardian pierced platinum ring is most certainly one to love. The rounded, raised setting features hand pierced openwork, with etched flowers on the setting's front and back panels. The etched sides of the tapered band resemble delicate laurel wreaths that fade to a smooth finish at the base of the shank. And as if all that attention to detail just wasn't enough, note the finely milgrain finish on the three outer rib edges at the base of the 1.25mm thick band.
This spectacular treasure features a round, prong set 4mm opal that has two pinpoint scratches or natural flaws on the upper surface.
Stunning as is for the woman who loves opals or is her October birthstone. Imagine this as an engagement ring, reset with a hand-picked diamond to signify new love that will last through the years.
Band is marked Platinum on one side and has an unknown H inside a diamond hallmark on the other, along with hand-etched markings I speculate are property inventory markings.
Ring setting rise is 7mm, with a width of 10.5mm north to south.
Ring size: 6 1/2
