1940s Fenton Aqua Crest Double Crimp Oval Bonbon 36
Introduction by Fenton in the early 1940s, this is the Fenton aqua crest double crimp oval bonbon (#36) with a spun turquoise glass trim around the opal white glass center. Measuring approx. 6" long and 4-7/8" wide at the furthest points, This bon bon is in excellent condition, with no nicks, chips or cracks.
According to Whitmyer's Fenton Art Glass Patterns, 1939-1980 (2d ed.), the initial aqua crest line was introduced between 1941 and 1942, with all initial production discontinued by 1943. A wide assortment of aqua crest shapes were then reintroduced in 1948, in shapes much different from the earlier issue. The double crimped oval bonbon (ware #36) was introduced in 1941 and discontinued two years later, with the bonbon reappearing in 1948 under ware #7225-AC (but not listed as oval) and discontinued in 1954.
