Effanbee FAO Swartz Dy-Dee Baby Layette Box - NO DOLL w/ Unbranded Booties
Offering an old, worn, and fairly large Effanbee FAO Swartz Dy-Dee Baby doll layette box believed to date to the 1930s or early 1940s. Please note this is the box and booties only, with no doll included.
This box measures 15-1/4 inch long, 11-1/2 inch wide, and 3 inch high.
When I found this box, the pink cotton flannel-like booties were inside, but they have no labels or other markings to know whether they are for a Dy-Dee doll or some other. As they were in the box, I am including them as well.
Please click through and view all photos for the larger, zoom view and you will note this box has, without a doubt, seen use and wear over the years. Box sides and lid curve inward a bit at various points, and there is a tear in one of the top corners as well as a couple of stains and small paper pulls. Desirable and hard to find, and sold for a doll collector's treasured collection, as is.
Prepacked the box weighs almost 3/4 lb, but because of the box size required for packing, once it's securely packed, the weight ends up a little over 2 lb.
