Easter Greetings For Grandma Woolson Spice Victorian Trade Card 1894
I couldn't find another online offering of this particular trade card in my research, but the illustration quality is near that of Maud Humphrey or Frances Brundage. Look at that face; she's just super sweet!
The condition of the card is quite good, especially considering its age. The bottom left corner has a backward bend / crease, with a very short tear on the front layer halfway in on that corner. Other than that, there is a short, light crease in the upper right-hand corner and subtle rounding or separating at the corner edges.
On the reverse side, the bottom left corner reads Gast Litho Co., New York & Chicago, while the bottom right corner is marked Copyright, 1894, Woolson Spice Co. The marketing content on the back of the card extends an offer through January 1, 1895; shoppers who mailed in 25 Lion Coffee wrappers would receive a fine pocket knife for free. The bottom of the card reads "Beautiful Picture Cards - You will find a beautiful picture card in every package of Lion Coffee during 1894, those for Easter, Midsummer and Christmas being particularly fine. The above are only two of our many fine premiums. A complete Illustrated Premium [...] will be mailed with your first premium, or a list may be secured before then by sending stamp for return postage."
