This antique blue Jefferson Glass opalescent ruffled bowl is a luscious example of its Many Loops pattern, dating to circa 1908. According to the Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass, this distinctive design of 'spirograph-like pattern of overlapping loops, bordered by zig-zag threading' was listed as pattern 247 and is found in crystal as well as opalescent colors of white, blue, and green.
Measures approx. 8-1/2 inch in diameter and 2-3/4 inch at the highest point. In very good condition, with an encased bubble near the base, a tiny open bubble with ash inclusion and a slight tooling mark at the rim, and a couple of ash inclusions, none of which detract from its appeal.
