Stunning 1914 antique 14k multi-color Elgin hunter case pocket watch featuring four gold colors - yellow, rose, green and white - and a diamond accented flower. The pocket watch hunting case is elegantly embossed and etched with a matching oval frame on both sides featuring an arrangement of three flowers at the top and a fancy flourish embellishment at the base. The front cover is decorated with a floral wreath around a smooth polish shield bearing no monogram or other markings. The back cover is decorated with a lone flower in rose gold and gold, with a 10-point diamond (H SI2) at the center. Light scratches in the gold, with most not readily apparent.
Both the watch face and crystal are clean and showing no damage, with the watch face marked in black arabic numbers at each hour (except 6 o'clock) and small red marginal numbers tucked at the outer edge counting the corresponding in seconds. At the base of the watch face is a sub second dial.
The case back has a hallmark of Warranted 14k and an unknown maker's case serial number of 285096. Opens and closes nicely with edges that meet smoothly and no damaged noted. The pendant crown and bow / swing ring are also in great condition.
With a 17703207 serial number, this 17 jewel, 16s size pocket watch is a 3/4 plate model 6 believed to have a 1914 production year and a 386 grade.
This beauty ticks right along, keeping good time. I don't know how recently or long it's been since it was last serviced.
