Quaker Oats premium in the late 1940s (1949). </span></font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">This particular Aunt

has obviously been used only for display, and then I'm sure it was
enclosed and safe from the elements of everyday living (no dust, no
grime), and eventually stored away. As can be seen, the only thing to
report is a bit of wear to the white paint on the high points. All
original late 1940s, and a beauty at that!</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Measures 5-1/4" high.
Underside bears the raised marking of "F.&F. - Mold & Die Works

marked "Aunt Jemima - Reg. U.S. Pat Off."</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">A fabulous, original addition for any Black Americana collection!

fabulously thin for this Christmas season. This cardboard match holder

appears the container is full with somewhere around 45 matches. The

can't be certain of the age, but believe this boxed set of matches
dates to around the 1970s. For those unfamiliar with the name, Stix,
Baer & Fuller, was a department store chain that operated here in
St. Louis from 1892 to 1984. </font></p>

Kaj Lange, shows two children (or maybe a toddler with a young adult)
out in a crisp, winter weather, standing near a railroad track that
travels through the countryside. To the left, right, and foreground are
trees of various shapes and sizes, with a train coming down the track
at the center of the plate. You can just sense that the waving child is
keeping toasty warm, wrapped in his anticipation and excitement over
the nearing train.</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Plate designed with two holes in the bottom

reissued by L.E. Smith in the mid-1970s (1975-1976) as part of its
Bicentennial Collection, a pattern that was originally produced in the
mid-1960s (1963-1968). This particular piece was listed in the Smith
catalog as Item # 4504 8-1/2" Candy Box.</span></font><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Occasionally referred to as
Federal Eagle, gracing both sides of this cobalt carnival candy dish is
a stately spread-wing eagle with an escutcheon, or shield, on its
breast and boughs clutched in its talons, while stars are scattered in
the background, across the lid, and around the pedestal top.</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Measures
8" high to the finial top, 5-3/8" wide, and 4" deep. There is a short,

looking to add to this particular pattern, you'll also find that I have

I'm more than happy to combine shipping, at actual cost. </font></p>

Together and are still going strong today, this Hallmark tree trimmer
ornament from 1978 is a special treat. The satin ball ornament is
wrapped in a colorful display of red poinsettia flowers, holly leaf and
berry sprigs, and two love birds face to face, a red 1978 heart between
them. </span></font><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">First Christmas Together is found above the heart, while at
the back of the ornament is the phrase Sharing is the heart of loving,
in a heart frame.</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">All indications are that this ornament has
never been out of the box, so I didn't want to remove it to photograph
for fear that I might somehow affect the otherwise perfect condition of
the ball ornament itself or the box, which itself is in near-mint
condition with both the price tab and gift card still intact on and in
the lid. </font></p>

amazed lately, with numerous treasures still with tags, in boxes, well
preserved.</span></font><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Such is the case with this ceramic Winnie the Pooh mug,
decorated with embossed images of Owl and Winnie (doing a jig??) while

table fan has four brass blades and operates at three different speeds.
Just a glance at the open cage and your thoughts immediately turn to
the risk of injury that came with antique fans. (These obviously
do not comply with modern safety standards, and should never be used
around children or pets.) </span></font><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">The brass plate on the top of the fan reads
Century - Alternating Current Fan - Manufactured in U.S.A. By - Century
Electric Co. - St. Louis, MO, with additional notations on an S2 9"
frame, Model 52, and a patent date of December 29, 1914.</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">As is
shown in the photos, the wiring is old, frayed, and could stand to be
replaced, and there is chipping in the paint on the blade cage, motor
casing, and base. The base is set for mounting to a desk or work area,
with three bolt/screw holes.</font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Fan stands 14-1/2" high and has a 10"
cage diameter. The fan is in working condition, but could use a good
cleaning. (I've polished the blade fronts, but left the backs generally
 untouched.) Prepacked weight: 13.5 lbs.

Wind him at his breastbone, and his head bobs up and down as he pecks

including his tail, he is marked Köhler Germany. Circa 1950, with the

features Betty Lou, a character from a radio comedy broadcast enjoyed
by listeners from the late 1930s to mid-1940s. Most intriguing is the
fact that the radio team of Tommy Riggs and Betty Lou was actually
accomplished through only one person, Tommy Riggs, who was able to
alter his voice with ease between his baritone range and one sounding
to be of a young girl. Some time after the debut series, Tommy and
Betty Lou secured a new series, which was sponsored by Quaker Oats, and
it is my understanding these spoons are advertising premiums, likely
for Quaker Oats cereal (although I've also found other references
suggesting they were an advertising premium for various products of the
times, including Chase & Sanborn Coffee). </span></font></p><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Each spoon measures
6" long, and features a full standing image of Betty Lou, with
shoulder-length hair adorably set in curly locks; bright, open eyes
with the longest of lashes; and wearing a polka dot dress, with the
handle decorated both front and back. The lower stem of the spoon
handle has embossed lettering of her name: Betty Lou. Marked on the
reverse Carlton Silver Plate. All in excellent condition; price is for
the six-piece set. </font></p>

smaller. The beads appear to be wooden (I can see the wood grain with
my loupe), and the color jet black with no indications of having been
dyed or stained, leading me to speculate they, as well as the crucifix,
may be ebony. The oval-shaped beads are approx. 5/16" in length, all
smooth and soothing, making these prayer beads a perfect devotional
instrument. The cross is 1-1/2" long and features a miniature silver
metal corpus.</span></font><p style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><font size="3">Rosary weight: 16 grams. Measures 22" long,
including the 7" drop below the center medal. In good condition; marked
France on the reverse of the wooden crucifix. </font></p>
