1969 Lladro Girl with Basket/Shepherdess with Dog #1034 Retired

A beautiful Lladro figurine (#1034) featuring a tall young woman or shepherdess with her dog, a basket of loaf bread hanging from her left arm. Slender and meek, she bends ever so slightly forward, her right arm positioned as though a hand signal is being given to the adorable, young puppy at her feet.

In researching this piece, I was a bit baffled that some listings identified her as "Girl with Basket", while other times I was finding "Shepherdess with Dog". Referring to the Price Guide for Contemporary Collectibles, it appears she is known as both.

Measuring 10-5/8" high with a glossy finish, this figure was sculpted by Julio Fernandez. Issued in 1969 and later retired in, I believe, 1991. Marked with the blue Lladro insignia. In excellent condition, with no nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, or repairs noted.
